Our Founder and Executive Director
My Healing Within was started by Thremene Murphy. A survivor herself, Thremene has made it her mission to assist other women and their children as they seek to rebuild their lives in a safe environment.
Thremene has served her community as a keynote speaker for the Center of Violence of Pitt County (October, 2019), but she feels her mission in life is to be more than just an inspirational story of survival.
As the founder of My Healing Within, Thremene wants to take more action to assure that women in abus Thremene serves survivors from all walks of life, with compassion, empathy, exceptional service, and integrity. She lives with her daughter in Greenville, North Carolina, and when she is not busy being a kindergarten teacher and advocate for survivors, she’s busy being just a bit of a social butterfly herself. Thremene is also a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.ive relationships have access to living and mental health resources they need in order to establish their independence and healing.
What is Domestic Violence?
Domestic violence is any intentional act used to gain power and control over an intimate partner or a family member. Physical harm is only one method used to gain control. Other tactics may include, but are limited to, isolation, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, intimidation, economic abuse or threats of abuse.
Our mission
The mission of My Healing Within is to advocate for and empower domestic violence survivors by providing free, safe, and confidential shelter and support services. This program is for women and children.

Our History
My Healing Within Inc. was founded in 2022 by Thremene Murphy to provide a resource to women who have experienced domestic violence.
Our Team
Our team is made up of licensed therapists, social workers, and other mental health professionals who are passionate about supporting mental health and wellness in our community.
